The girl’s case worker said in an incident that her parents asked her to school with a sign, saying, “I pee and cover it up like a cat.” Her school also reported that she was forced to hold a sign at Walmart that read: “I lied to hurt others.”

The girl’s parents admitted she had behavioral disorders that needed medication, and investigators said it seemed that the parents were trying to justify their behavior. But investigators say the admission could make the alleged crime worse.

On Wednesday, the Logsport Public Works Commission voted to leave Scott without paying during the investigation.
