Former Rams star Cooper Kupp to join division rival Seahawks after release: reports

Cooper Kupp, The 2022 Super Bowl MVP has reportedly agreed to sign with the Seattle Seahawks after being released by the Los Angeles Rams earlier this week. It is reported that Coup’s deal has been around for three years and has $45 million.

Kupp DK MetcalfIt was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers last week.

Coup revealed in a social media post last month that the Rams “seek a deal right away and will work with me and my family to find the right place to continue to compete for the championship.”

However, no trading partner was found, so he was released.

Coop admitted he “disagrees with the decision and always believes it will start and end in Los Angeles”

Kupp turned 32 in June and has been hampered by injuries since recording the Triple Crown in 2022 and winning the Super Bowl MVP. He has played in just 33 of 51 games over the past three seasons. When he was productive, his back seat went to Puka Nacua.

Coop is the Rams’ third round draft pick 2017 in eastern Washington.

In his 2022 season, he scored 145 passes for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns. Since then, he has received 201 catches for 2,259 yards and 17 points.

Last year, his 710 catch yards were the lowest since 2018 when he invested 566, which was half the game he missed. He has not played more than 12 games since his 2022 campaign, and he has not been overshadowed since then.

“I’m so proud to be in the Los Angeles community with my teammates, so thank you for embracing my family and providing us with such a special place,” Kupp said on social media last month. “2024 started in one of the best boot camps of my career. Preparations now begin in 2025. Motivated, healthy as ever, and looking forward to playing elite football for the years to come. Love you guys…but come for it all.”

Kupp joins elevated receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba in Seattle, and Darnold will earn a steady veteran in his first season in Seattle.
