McIlroy started walking with Porter’s phone, seemingly looking for any video he thought Porter had shot at that moment.
golf.com The report said Porter referenced McIlroy’s 2011 Masters, and infamously collapsed in the final round of the year, eventually defeating 80 people and losing to Charl Schwartzel.
When McIlroy passed through Potter’s phone call, the Texas golfer was reportedly escorted out. Later he returned his phone number.

“He didn’t know that his mouth would cause this way,” Fields said.
“As for the University of Texas program, I mean, it’s an embarrassing moment. It’s particularly sensitive to me because our program is based on respect for the game and I’ll tell you that we normally coach children aged 18 to 22 and they don’t always make the right calls, and that’s my responsibility as my coach, and when they do a mistake, it’s a learning moment.”
McIlroy was not confused at this moment, though, as he started the first round with a 5-shot start on Thursday. He was a shot from leaders Lucas Glover, JJ Spaun and Camilo Villegas, who all finished with 6 shots.
However, McIlroy won’t answer two different questions about this event after the turn.

Fields noted that Porter sent a written apology letter to McIlroy, PGA travel agency Jay Monahan and others.
