FEMA is hiring temporary workers to help with Eaton and Palisades fire recovery

Federal Emergency Management Agency plans to hire more than 20 temporary workers to help Fire Recovery Work In Southern California.

The agency announced its expanded workforce on Thursday, saying new employees will help in disaster areas of Eaton and Palisades.

A FEMA spokesman said workers will be employed for four months and may extend their jobs, depending on the need.

26 jobs available In acquisitions, civil rights, diplomacy, disaster site training operations, harm mitigation, human resources, personal assistance, information technology, human resources and other fields.

A FEMA announcement said speeding up the hiring process is designed to rapidly increase its workforce while ensuring it benefits from local staff knowledge in the Los Angeles area.

“Local hiring jobs is part of an accelerated process that helps rapidly grow the FEMA workforce, while also providing economic stimulus and good job opportunities for communities that may be unemployed due to disasters,” FEMA spokesman La-Tanga hopes to say in a statement.

Recruiting professionals promises that the “many benefits” of federal employment include “good benefits, flexible working schedules, opportunities for professional growth, stability, stability and horizontal movement across institutions”.

Nonprofits that support federal agencies say hiring may be hampered in the face of massive reductions in many federal agencies recently ordered by the Trump administration. Advocates say federal employment seems less stable than at any time in recent memory.
