Inflation has been working in the White House for most of four years, and it is a key issue that will promote Trump’s presidency.
But Trump hasn’t talked about inflation since returning to power, except for blaming Biden for continuing high prices. He has admitted that consumers may feel “pain” by the tariffs, but said it is necessary to help promote the country’s manufacturing sector.
“If the company moves to the United States, there will be no taxes!!!” Trump wrote in a social media post a few hours before his speech.

The speech comes four days after a verbal conflict between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Trump and Vice President JD Vance in the Oval Office. The tense meeting and Trump launched the Ukrainians from the White House, a mineral resource agreement between Washington and Kiev, is seen as a key step in reaching a bloody war with Moscow.

But Zelenskyy said Tuesday he was ready for peace talks after a “regrettable” meeting at the White House.
The speech provided Trump with a platform to explain his diplomatic efforts and resist criticism from Democrats and a handful of Republicans who are reading the script of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“He will get involved in foreign policy – talking about his intention to end the Ukrainian war,” Levitt said in her “Fox and Friends” interview.
Trump told reporters on Monday that he would talk about mineral transactions in his speech.
Immigration and border security
Border security has long been a matter of Trump’s signature and a key factor in his successful campaign to win the presidency in 2024, with the president cracking down on illegal immigration since returning to the White House.
Trump has suspended his asylum efforts and launched a massive eviction program, but he and his administration hope to speed up his efforts and he will use his speech to seek help from Congress.
Levitt stressed that Trump “is going to ask Congress tonight: We need more border funds to continue these deportations.”
